How it works:

Traditional Chinese Medicine is the oldest form of medicine  that dates back more than 2,300 years ago, it is based off the concept that there are various meridians, or energy channels in the body that correspond with different organs. Each meridian has their own acupuncture points, each of which help to relieve certain symptoms. When a needle is inserted, the central nervous system is stimulated to release chemical endorphins that reduce pain receptors, lower inflammation, reduce anxiety, activate our parasympathetic nervous system, balance hormones, increase circulation, and much more.

When our body is in a parasympathetic state or "rest and digest" mode, our body and its various internal processes and systems can function optimally and allows balance to be restored.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture stimulates certain points on the body that activates our parasympathetic or " rest and digest" system. This helps the body to activate it's innate healing response and bring balance to the body.

Cupping

Cupping breaks up local adhesions or "knots" in the muscles and encourages oxygen rich blood flow to the affected area to reduce pain and tension and increase circulation.

Herbal Prescriptions

Customized herbal formulas are the perfect compliment to Acupuncture. Herbs increase the  efficacy of treatment and provide a greater relief of symptoms. Raw herbs, tinctures, pills, or powders may be prescribed.

Moxabustion

Moxabustion is a modality involving the burning of the herb Mugwort in various forms. It helps to warm the meridians, reduce pain, and increase blood flow in the body.
